COMMON PROBLEMS MRS. MURPHY TYPICALLY ENCOUNTERS ALONG WITH SOLUTIONS. PROBLEM: Muffler dragging SOLUTION: electrical tape and a coat hanger.
PROBLEM: Malfunctioning butterfly wheel in carburator SOLUTION: a #2 pencil to hold fly piece in place. When you crank the engine, the pencil will fly out
PROBLEM: You need to keep the skirting on the mobile covered during the winter. SOLUTION: Duct tape. Lots of it.
PROBLEM: Brake light cover broken. SOLUTION: Clear red plastic tape.
PROBLEM: Floor board rotted through front passenger seat. SOLUTION: two cheap rugs (the kind you buy to wipe your feet on) and several issues of the New York Times Sunday Edition. One hyper kid to sit on that side of the car.
PROBLEM: When the above doesn't work: SOLUTION: Spot weld and rivet.
PROBLEM: Hole in car radiator. SOLUTION: �Several, depending upon how big the hole is. a.) you could try putting in some Merrimack River Water; b.) oatmeal; c.) shove a rock into the hole, then wrap it securely with electrical tape; d.) wedge a piece of wood in there; e.) carry water. LOTS of water; f.) when all else fails, go to the junkyard.
PROBLEM: You tried to put new screens in your screen doors and windows, but bought spline that was too big. SOLUTION: On windows that many people are going to see, use packing tape to hold the screening. On windows that no one but you is going to see, duct tape.
PROBLEM: No slats or no slat holders on the bed SOLUTION: books. lots of books. At all four corners, UNDER the box (or metal) spring.
PROBLEM: anything not listed here SOLUTION: duct tape, duct tape, and more duct tape.
