Hey There!Did you come for the salmon stripping? The great lunch at Willing Workers Hall? Just to watch the fall foliage mirrored on the lake?
Well, now, all that's just fine. Only one thing - BEHAVE YOURSELF. See - our town cops enjoy the salmon stripping and the meals at Willing Workers Hall as well, and it sure grundles up their guts when their peace is disturbed.
We consider our little village a very special place. A quiet, peaceful little place.
For instance, we had a stoplight here once. (While they were fixing the bridge over the river.) But they took it away. No one paid attention to it.
If you come and visit, you can spend some time browsing in Susie's Mill Stream store, and then sit in the rockers on the porch that overlooks the waterfall and the river. You can see the lake from here as well.
Up the road a bit is the village store. You can buy much the same things here as you can at the store in the "center" of town.
What you can't buy ANYWHERE in town:
1. gas - for automobiles. Gas for boats is plentiful 2. we have no walmart, no ames, no kmart, no macdonald's, no arby's, no burger king. The nearest fancy restaurant is about 10 miles away. 3.the feeling that we're all in this together, and how we show that. 4. watching the deer up at the top of High street. 5. the beauty of the salmon as they swim towards the big lake 6. the wonder of the houses after midnight, their Christmas lights making the village look like something out of the Saturday Evening Post.
