"Each and every year that passes, millions of children around the globe are victimized by severe abuse and neglect. Helpless victims of horrific crimes undergo maltreatment in a wide variety of ways. Some not so easily spotted to the untrained eye, others are as plain as the nose on our face. However,as individuals we have become self-blinded as to the abusive situations going on around us. As a society we have become equally as blind and extremely ineffective when it comes to taking preventative measures, recognizing and reporting such abuse." From "A Special Dedication To Our Children" at Children Are Worth Saving - a site devoted to abuse awareness, education, resources, links. Please visit.

Statistics state that almost 900,000 children who had cases of abuse against them reported and substantiated were NEVER OFFERED SERVICES. What happened to them? Are they still out there suffering in silence? Please click on the Project Love icon to the left to read how you can help.

As I walked by myself,

And talked to myself,

Myself said unto me,

Look to thyself,

Take care of thyself,

For nobody cares for thee.

No one likes to feel alone. And the lonliness of the abused child is the worst kind of lonliness (in my opinion) that there is.

Sometimes, when we come into contact with a child we suspect may be abused, we're afraid that we may be wrong. I can't stress how important it is to take the chance to call in your suspicions to one of the agencies below, or to your state/local authorities. Because if you're not wrong, and you DON'T call, then another child may be lost. Are you willing to take that chance? Listed below are some agencies where you can gather information, and make reports.

The "VOLUNTEERS FOR CHILDREN ACT" (HR2488) will amend the 1993 CHILD PROTECTION ACT, it will provide youth serving organizations the ability to conduct volunteer and employee nation-wide FBI fingerprint based background checks. If you do not sign there will be a loss of the TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS that was allocated under the 1993 CHILD PROTECTION ACT. The 1993 OPRAH WINFREY ACT authorized this money, but it was never appropriated and authorization for it expires this year! Please click on the banner above for more information.
